About the Nanny

From my very first post, I explain a lot about myself and how I came to be the nanny or babysitter I am today.  First, my babysitter at a young age really connected with me and gave me a sense of responsibility to be more than just a gum-smacking, talk-on-the-phone-all-night, and let-kids-watch-tv-all-day babysitter.  I also owe some credit to Ann M. Martin's book series on "The Babysitter's Club."  Goofy and embarassing to admit, I used to love those books.  I was a flashlight under the covers reader when I was little and I spent many hours reading about babysitting from Martin's series.

That being said, I'm a 24 year-old graduate student currently enrolled in a Master's in Secondary Education program at the University of Arizona.  Yes!  That means I'm a desert rat living in Tucson, Arizona.  I stay busy with my school responsibilities with my Master's work and also student teaching this year in a middle school setting.  I'm loving the education career and find it has been an amazing fit for myself.

I still have time every now and then to babysit for the families I have come to know and love over the years.  I have one family in town where I have watched their boys for coming up on SIX years!  I have been there to watch their boys grow and I love it!

I hope this blog helps give you ideas on how you can make babysitting and nannying that much more enjoyable for you, the children, and the parents.  However, I do want to say I will not be taking jobs or employment from this blog.
