The purpose of this blog is to share ideas and information about caring for children while babysitting or nannying. I want this to be a positive place where I can talk about things I have found to work with my experience. Families have many different views along with each of these important questions:
1. Do we have one parent stay home with the children until a certain age?
2. Do we both work?
3. Do we find childcares avenues of a preschool, home care setting with a neighbor, or a private nanny to come in to care for our children?
Many families will have strong opinions about all of these questions and more. Families need to work out these answers for themselves. Maybe both parents have to keep working in this economy because they fear they might not be able to get back into this job market. Maybe a single mother has a very nice job and can't stay home with her children because she has to provide for her family.
My point is that every family comes from a different background. I want these entries to be a respectful place where families or people involved in childcare can come and get ideas about how to work with children. Even though I don't know the absolute truth of this statement, I know parenting has to be one of the hardest jobs out there! All in all, please keep your comments positive and respectful as situations may come up within this blog.
